Philip comes from a rich history of musical roots as his father (Ken) and uncle (Paul Janz) founded the band Deliverance (Billboard Charting “Leaving LA”). As well, he and his brother Andrew spent a number of years performing in the band 2True.

Philip learned the craft of producing, arranging and live sound mixing while being mentored by his Dad. Philip went on to oversee many live/studio productions in both Europe and Canada as producer and engineer.

More About Philip:

Born in Steinbach, Canada in 1969, Philip moved with his parents, Ken & Ruth Janz, to Germany in 1971 as the “Janz Team Singers” - not to be confused with the Janz Quartet, which was comprised of Ken’s Father Leo Janz and brothers. Eventually Ken & Paul Janz founded the band Deliverance.

Shortly after graduation (1987), he returned to Germany to work with his Dad for a sound company called “Firma Dudda” (Exclusive 'Meyer Sound' Distributor at the time). It was there where his Dad built a studio in the basement of the sound company’s facility. During this time, Philip composed, recorded & produced music with the help & mentorship of his Dad (Ken Janz), an accomplished Record Producer & Audio Engineer. Philip also wrote musical compositions for various multimedia presentations.

In 1990, he attended Capilano University, having enrolled in the commercial music program. There he learned in-depth music theory and 4-part harmony; his favourite class was “sight and ear training” - learning to transcribe songs by ear.

Afterwards he found employment as a cashier and was eventually promoted to management (Real Canadian Superstore). Busy, high stress environments within the store, afforded him the opportunity to learn how to cope under pressure, where he learned invaluable lessons about time & people management. This would years later serve him well overseeing & producing large scale live events/recordings with time constraints and deadlines.

While working at Superstore, he and his brother Andrew formed a band called 2True - they enjoyed several years of musical partnership with friends Tim Olsen, Paul Papworth and Dave Olson. They played in local clubs, churches and outdoor festivals.

In the years that followed, Brenda and Philip were involved with various productions, conferences, and concerts.

Both Brenda, Philip & Andrew also recorded an album together called “The Janz Project”, which was distributed throughout German Speaking Europe.

Over the years, Philip has produced and recorded many albums for various artists, both in North America and in Europe. Various productions and music tours have allowed him to travel to many countries
