Live Engineer

Philip has worked as a sound engineer for over 30 years. His first foray into “professional” sound re-enforcement began at age 19 (1988), when he secured work at a reputable sound company in Germany (“Firma Dudda”), alongside his Dad - Ken Janz. It was there where he began developing his skill as both a live & studio engineer, thanks to his Dad’s mentorship, as well as “on-the-job” experience. One of Philip’s many technical accomplishments was to mix a live TV broadcast in Berlin (Potsdammer Platz) for a political rally, shortly after the fall of the “iron curtain” (1989). Both Ken and Philip did many sound jobs together over the next year.

“Hi Tech Fantasy”

Philip, and his Dad (Ken Janz) are pictured here setting up audio for an event in a soccer stadium in Germany (1988). It was called “high tech fantasy” in which laser, fireworks and music were all part of the show. Philip was also responsible for composing the soundtrack for the multi-media event.

Over the years, Philip has had the opportunity to run “live” sound all over the world in many different applications and settings - from corporate to concert.
